Overview:

Quinic acid is also known as 6-methoxyquinolinecarboxylic acid, yellow columnar crystals. Melting point 280℃ (decomposition). Soluble in absolute ethanol and alkali, insoluble in cold ethanol and ether. It is obtained by oxidation of quinine with chromic acid. Used in organic synthesis. Quinic acid is an alicyclic organic acid unique to higher plants and a precursor for the biosynthesis of aromatic amino acids. It is commonly found in vascular plants and often coexists with shikimic acid in plants. Quinic acid has a special structure and multiple chiral centers. It is an important material in stereoorganic synthesis and is widely used as a chiral raw material in the synthesis of natural products and in the preparation of new polymeric materials.

Chemical properties:

White crystalline powder, soluble in methanol, ethanol, DMSO and other organic solvents, derived from eucommia leaves, cinchona bark, coffee seeds, apples, peaches and other fruits.

Purpose:

D-(-)-quinic acid can enhance bile, reduce fat, detoxify the liver, and prevent fatty liver.
